Brand new for the Min.

I always like to have something new for the Min and this time I have an entire range.  Anyone paying close attention may have noticed me doing it large for the front of greetings cards.

Whilst this was indeed for greetings cards, it was also a trial and a practice for shrinking the skill, once I’d got the hang of it in big sizes.  I am happy to say for the last few months I have been endlessly sculpting masters, making moulds and producing paper castings for a new range of miniatures.

I have made three dimensional pictures entirely of paper, including the frames.  As a result they weigh next to nothing, and, as I can make in numbers, rather than producing each like a painting, from scratch, they won’t cost much either.  Why am I doing this?

It’s because we all need a little light relief and these are.

I have 12th scale and some small enough to be 24th so far and I’ve tried to cover  different eras and styles as you can see.

Here’s what might be a wooden Tudor panel (except it’s paper.)

And a medieval revival George and the dragon and so on, all the way up to the current craze for kitschy country cottages.

I can make numbers of any one, so you needn’t feel left out if the shopper before you gets the one you wanted, I can make another.  As they’re all painted by me there is variation so each is an original work of art, even though they are repeatable.

I think they may be quite good (though I can’t tell, I made them) because my husband  asked where I got the sculptures to make the moulds from.  I replied that I sculpted them.  He said: Oh.  (I’ve only been sculpting for twenty years, it’s probably too soon for him to notice.)

I’ve done the subjects I fancied this time but I am open to suggestions for the future.  As many will be priced under £10, they’re the sort of collectable even I could afford to collect, so don’t be shy, say what you’d like to see next, I’ll take a notebook and note your nice ideas.

I have loved every minute of these, despite the encouragement at home.  In a fairly awful year, they’ve been a little light relief, I hope you find them likewise.
