Cowboys, Indians and a spot of world domination.

I have got some great stuff ready for the Min.  Do you remember the cowboys?

Now look –

Indians!

The Indians of course have lovely families

And the cowboys and Indians have all met together and played on the grassy plains.

The Indians, as you may have noticed, have lovely variegated horses.

Which term may lead you to think I’m more of a gardener than a student of horse flesh.  I think the correct term may be piebald.  Any way the saddles of the cowboy horses and the blankets of the Indian horses are all removable, as are the reins, as you can see one pony has taken his reins off to eat lunch.  (Have you ever wondered if horses think ‘Oh great grass for lunch!’  Do cows consider ‘I wonder what I might have for dinner?  Cheese on toast?  Pizza?  Oh I know – I’ll have grass.)

As well as being able to play with cowboys and Indians, 12th scale children can now take over the nursery with a robot or two.  As all my toys are based on films of the 50s there are really only two kinds of robots.  Back in the far off days before animatronics, film makers had to design robots that could fit a person inside them to make them move.  This left the costumier with exactly two choices: a costume that could fit a man inside, walking.

Or a costume that was basically a dustbin on wheels with some poor actor squashed inside steering.  Hence any number of rolling robots on television and in the films.

Mine are very various.  Some have buttons on their heads so you could, in theory, switch them off.  They all have a bead underneath so they roll and once I got started I found that they just rolled off the production line

And rolled

And rolled

Crikey!  What next?  World domination?  (Unlikely – they’re only three quarters of an inch or 2 cms high!)

More in the pipeline – if I have time I’ll show you the sailor dolls on their ship.

JaneLaverick.com still playing.

And in case you’re wondering – yes it was a piece of cheese they were rolling off and I’m just about to go and have it for my lunch.
