Hello sailor.

If you usually tune in on Monday morning, you may wish to know that I posted over the weekend; if you scroll down you’ll find cowboys and Indians.

This is a little extra to remind you not to miss Wednesday’s bumper edition of Midweek Miniatura, the last before the show.

Some weeks ago I did post a heads up that items would start to disappear from the shop before the show.  All the paintings will vanish tomorrow, so if there’s a thing you have your eye on……..

And finally in this extra!  extra! read all about it, I’d like to say – hello sailor!

This dear little porcelain sailor with jointed arms and legs is a tribute to a Victorian boy on a scrap screen, who is dressed in a sailor outfit.  Sailor dolls and all things nautical were quite popular as toys in times gone by.  My sailors are only an inch and a half tall, which isn’t very tall at all.

See, titchy!  Each sailor comes with his own wooden boat and, unlike the unicorn and the walking robot, who’ll be going to the NEC on foot, the sailors will be sailing there on a ship.

Well, not really, the ship is cardboard and in a strong sea, or even a moderately warm bath, would dissolve.  But they will be going in the ship, which is really the box that they live in; that rope on the side opens the drawer where the boats live.

I’m off to dress some mediaeval maidens, see you on Wednesday.
